[Homework]2010-12-19 油价节节高
本帖最后由 zhongluo123 于 2010-12-21 15:06 编辑
Just when many households watching every penny, there is another thing to budget for: the cost of filling up your car. Petro prices ended last week on a record high, and that trend looks set to continue: the record price yesterday of 122.28 for a litre petro, that is likely to carry on increasing right through to the end of the year. And then of course we got the double whammy coming in with the government taking yet more tax by ********.
The AA is calling on the government not to increase both duty and VAT on fuel in the new year to ease the pressure on drivers, but there are several other factors pushing up petro prices. The cold weather's being effecting deliveries as well as its supplying demand at the pump. Also in the winter the cost of heating oil increases and that has the knock-on effect at the petro prices here. Now the AA is advising drivers shop around for the cheapest prices, but the fact is if you want to drive, you are going to have to pay a little bit more. Over the last month, the price of petro has gone up by just every 3 pents a litre, while the increase in diesel has been a little more. This is largely done to the increase in cost of crude oil that now stands just 790 dollars a barrel, forcing up the value of whole-sale petro. All these figures aren't welcome news for tourists, many of whom being forced to cut back on journeys. For those have to keep on using their cars, and *****. It's lifeblood of UK economy, lifeblood of families and business, and yet it's not regulated, we don't have a regulate for oil prices, which *** pay ** rate too high at the moment. But this is only the start of a harsh winter, and it looks like to be a costly one for those dependent on their own vehicles to get around.
