Allegations of collusion between Russian officials and the IAAF were first made by German broadcast ARD last year, and the journalists responsible welcome this development.

You made the documentary that contains these allegations, tell me what's the significance of the French police investigation?

It is really remarkable and it is necessary to do that, because when we talk about sports, we talk about high performance sports,  and it is very important for a country to a nation, and if people are showing some wrong doing, i think it's quite understand and  correct that authorities are digging into the subject.

The leadership of the world's two truly global sports,  football and athletics are now under criminal investigation, avoiding the prolonged scandal consuming FIFA will be a major challenge for Coe, but speaking on the day he took up the IAAF presidency, he said anti-doping was a priority.
We need to continually establish, reestablish our non negotiable commitment to a clean sport.

That challenge just got a little greater.
