Britain's House of Commons has derailed Prime Minister Boris Johnson's plans to pass his Brexit withdrawal agreement today. So, as required by law, Johnson sent a request to the European Union for a three-month delay. But that was accompanied by a letter arguing against an extension. Johnson says he doesn't believe the EU will want to delay the UK's exit. "I don't think they will be attracted by delay, and I hope that then Honorable Members face to the choice of our new deal, our new deal for the UK and the European Union, will change their minds." Meanwhile, EU Council President Donald Tusk tweeted later today he has the extension request and that he will consult EU leaders on how to react.

The first residential drone delivery service in the US has launched. From member station WVTF, Robbie Harris reports Wing, a partner of Google, has FAA approval for a test period in Southwestern Virginia through early next year.

Michael / watched the small unmanned aircraft cover over their designated delivery spot and gently lower the package to their front lawn before flying back to home base, also in Christiansburg.
