The House judiciary committee convinced tonight for a markup session to refine articals of an impeachment against President Donald Trump. NPR's Bobby Allyn reports the democratic majority accuses Trump of embedding a foreign government to interfer in the 2020 election by pressuing Ukrine to investigate a political rival.

Democratic leaders are moving fast in hopes of making Trump, the third US president in history to be impeached. Fearing that the integrity of the 2020 election was that stake. Democrats say they will impeach Trump for abuse of power and obstruction of congress. This evening lawmakers will begin debating, amending and making revisions to the articles of an impeachment. That will tear up before House vote on the articles expected before the end of the year. Trump has called the impeachment investigation, a witch hunt and Republicans have attacked the process as an attempt to avoid the will of the voters. The impeachment trial is set to start in January in the senate where Republicans controlled the majority and are unlikely to convict the president. Bobby Allyn NPR News, Washington.

President Trump is signing in an executive order that the White House says will target any semitism on college campuses. But as NPR's Tamara Keith explains it's already generating concerns that the real outcome would be the staffer free speech by those who oppose Israel's policy toward the Palestinians.

The executive order takes aim at the boycott divestment and sanctions movement. That has generated intense controversy on college campuses. White House officials say the order will clearify that title six at the 1964 civil rights act applies to anti-semitic acts. It will affect universities that received federal funding and in order to make it applied anti-semitism. The order classifies jewishness as a race or nationality, rather than premierly irreligion. It also expands the definition of anti-semitism to include anti-Israeli speech. In a statement the left leading jewish group J Streets said this order could have a chilling effect on campus free speech in turns anti-semitism into our partisan political weapon.
