Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel is releasing a broad stimulus bill to aid in the ongoing response to the coronavirus crisis. NPR's KS reports Republicans are now briefing Democrats on the proposal.
McConnel worked with the Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and several GOP committee chairs in the Senate. The bill includes cash payment of up to 1200 dollars per person. Those payments would phase out for individuals who was making over 75,000 dollars and couples earning over 150,000. Tax payers with children would be eligible for $500 per child. The bill also includes house-care funding and business relief, like fee-free loans for small businesses with fewer than 500 employees. Those loans could be forgiven if the employers spend the money on keeping workers on the payrolls for the end of June. Democrats are expected to propose additional measures and changes in the coming days.

The Dakotas, Minnesota, and ports of the Gulf Coast are at risk for moderate and medium flooding between April and June, according to the National Oceanic Atmosphere
Administration, the southeastern US is also at risk. Soil is already saturated, so heavy spring rain could cause flooding. Heavy rain is getting more likely in much of the US as the earth gets hotter. Forecasters say this spring's flooding would likely be above average, but not as severe as the record-raging floods last year along the Mississippi River and the Subitaries. Nonetheless, this year's flooding could have serious implications if water damages homes since Americans are trying to isolate themselves in their house due to the coronavirus outbreak.
