PT complains the Gov. Roy Cooper is still in a shutdown mood and unable to guarantee that by August Republicans will be able to fully occupy the arena for their convention. Trump says that without such guarantee, organizers would have to look to another state. And Vice President Mike Pence tells Fox and friends.

"We look forward to working with the Gov. Cooper, getting a swift response and if needs be, if needs be moving the national convention to a state that, that is far the along on reopening and can say with confidence that we can gather there."

He mentioned Texas, Georgia, and Florida as possible options. A GOP spokeswoman says the Party will need answers sooner rather than later 越快越好.

Researchers in Israel have concluded vaccine safety assurance is important, a bit part of White people choose to get vaccinated is concerns for others. NPR's XX has more.

People usually get vaccinated with some degree of self interest in mind, expecting it will prevent a disease. But what about when the goal is to protect others? A team of researchers studied why parents did or did not choose to revaccinate their children because of fear that polio might spread. Researchers found that well selflessness were the desire to protect others from disease played a role in parents vaccination decision. So did distrust the vaccine. For future vaccine campaigns the author suggests emphasizing a vaccine's safety as well as encouraging selfless behavior. The study appears in the journal PANS

French automaker Renault could become the latest company ruled out jobs cuts and plants closures due to the economic devastation brought on by the cv. Renault has called a meeting with the Unions later this week and has proposed 2 billion Euro cost coming plan which includes staffer reductions and even possible site closures.

China is demanding the US withdraw export sanctions imposed on Chinese companies amid worsening conflict over the country's record on technology, security and human rights. China's Foreign Minister accusing the Trump adm of interfering in the country's affairs by adding 8 companies to an export blacklist occasional playing roles in the crackdown in the Muslim region. Washington also imposed controls about 2 dozen companies and government-linked entities that contains maybe involved obtaining good for potential military uses.

Hall of Fame basketball player Patrick Ewing has been released from the hospital where he was being treated for COVID-19. Ewing, a one time star center, are now coach for Georgetown University, announced last Friday he tested positive for the virus. More from NPR's XX.

Patrick Ewing's son tweets that his father is now home and getting better, adding, we'll continue to watch his symptoms and follow the CDC guidelines. The 57-year-old former all star center for the NBA's New York Knicks said he announced his positive test last week to emphasize the cv that can affect anyone and that it should not be taken lightly. Meanwhile major pro sports that have been shut down continued to navigate their way toward a possible 2020 return.

The National Hockey League released a memo outlining a phased return, starting with opening up team facilities for volunteer training. Players would be allowed to work out in small groups. The NHL says this could start in the next week or so.

Global financial markets rose today, Europe tracking gains in Asia. British markets were closed for a bank holiday today. While the US was closed for memeorial day.
