PDT today signed an executive order that would remove a liability shield that has been enjoyed by social media companies. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is weighing in on the on-going feud between PT and Twitter. NPR's XX reports, P made the remarks ahead of the Presidential order today.

Speaker Pelosi called Trump's backlash against Twitter for fact-checking two of his tweets "outrageous". She also noted that Twitter has failed to take down Trump's tweets spreading misinformation.

"Is there no honor among thieves?  That's really kind of what it comes down to. They've all exploited the truth. Some have made money off of it and some have made political capital off of their misrepresentations."

Pelosi said Trump and twitter still appeared to be in cahoots together.

The City of Minneapolis is bracing for the possibility of more violence today, a day after rioting over the death of a handcuffed black man in police custody, left one neighborhood in shambles. Demonstrators burned buildings, looted stores and spray-painted graffiti, demanding justice for George Floyd. Although officers involved had been fired, NPR's XX says, so far no charges have been filed.

None of the officers have been arrested or charged. There are multiple investigations going on at the same time, the FBI, and the Justice Department have announced federal investigations into the officers conduct at the scene to determine whether they violated federal, and H County district attorney is conducting investigation but has not yet filed charges despite the growing cry.

NPR's XX, Minnesota’s Govr today announced the activation of the National Guard in an effort to prevent further violence.

The Vice President's chief of staff is under scrutiny after NPR storied about his stock holdings after he took the position last year. Marc Short acknowledged he had some possible conflicts of interests but never devested. NPR's XX has more on calls for investigation into his finances.

Vice President Pence's Chief of Staff holds up to $1.64 million in stocks for companies doing work related to the federal govt's pandemic response. Companies like 3M, Abbott Labs, Procter & Gamble, which produce PPE(个人防护用品), tests, and healthcare supplies. These holdings could run afoul of conflict of interest laws. Democratic Congressman JK who chairs the subcommittee on govrt oversight says the issue should be investigated. The watchdog group, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, says it's drafting a conflict of interests complaint to the FBI. A spokes person for the Vice President said Marc Short has always acted appropriately.

Notwithstanding hightened tensions between the US and China over the cvp, Senate Finance Committee Chairman CG says he does not expect President Trump to walk away from a phase-one trade deal. G is strong backer of the trade deal signed in January is telling reporters he feels reassured Trump will stick to the deal despite he stepped up criticism of China's handling of the cvo, another point of contention, Beijing's efforts to impose its will on Hong Kong.

The Boston Marathon, which has, had been postponed to September bcs of the cv, hs now been officially called off.  XX from member station WGBH in Boston has the story.

The Boston Marathon has never been cancelled in the 124 year history of the race. That streak ended today when Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said the Marathon is not feasible this year due to public health concerns.

"There’s no way to hold this usual race format without bringing large numbers of people into close proximity."

A virtual alternative will be offered. And the Boston Athletic Association which organizes the marathon will offer refunds of entry fees to those who've registered for the race when it was originally scheduled for April.

Drugstore chain CVS says it will soon embark on a test of self-driving vehicles to deliver prescriptions in Houston. The company says the pilot program will partner with the Silicon Valley robotics company Nuro to begin delivering medicines and other goods. Customers would to confirm their identity to unlock and receive their delivery. Some of the robotic delivery programs has been conducted the Domino's pizza and grocery store chain Kroger.
