The Trump adm is charging renewable energy companies’ background for operating on federal land. NPR's XX report. Companies are getting multi-million-dollar bills even they've struggled to cope with the cvp.

Solar and wind companies say rents on federal land are too high. The dispute dates back to the end of the Obama adm. Under President Trump the Bureau of Land Management stop sending out rent bills while it study the issue. After determining the rents were set at fair market value, the agency started recently sending bills for two years with the back payments逾期支付. The solar energy industry association says the program has been a mess over two administrations now and needs to be fixed. The federal move is at odds with the government's other attempts to help companies make it through the pandemic, including approving lower federal loyalties for some oil and gas drillers.

A new study reveals African-American patients are nearly three times as likely to be hospitalized for Covid-19 as non-Hispanic whites. NPR's XX reports. The study adds to a growing body of research showing racial disparities can help outcomes in people diagnosed with the disease.

The study was carried out by researchers from the California-based health system Sutter Health. They looked at medical records for more than 1000 patients with confirmed cases of Covid-19 from across the state. They found that African-American patients tend to committed to the hospital later in the course of the disease and sicker too. One in four black patients ended up needing treatment in the intensive care unit compared to one in ten white patients. The study appears in the journal Health Affairs.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo today outland a number of ways the state is reopening its economy including allowing professional sports leagues to start training there. NPR's XX has more.

Just a couple of months ago New York was the epicenter of the cvp. But in the last week, Covid-19 related deaths in New York averaged to around 100 a day, that's a sharp decline from March and April. Governor Cuomo cited that downward trend before saying he would allow professional sports teams to begin training, effective immediately.

"We want people to be able to watch sports. To the extent, people are still staying home, it gives people something to do. It's a return to normalcy,"

Cuomo also says campgrounds帐篷露营地 and RV parks(房车基地 Recreational Vehicle) may reopen statewide, and that later this week all veterinarian practices may also reopen.

Asian markets are trading in mix territory this hour. The Hang Seng in Hong Kong is down about a half percent. The NIKKEI, the main market in Japan is up 1.1%. The Asia DOW is ahead by 4/10 of a percent.

Former Florida Congressman Allen West was injured in a motorcycle accident in Texas on Saturday. XX from member station KWBU has more on his condition.

West reported via his social media accounts that the accident occurred on his way back to Dallas from the Texas freedom rally in Austin where he spoke to protesters from across the state who gathered to encourage further reopening of Texas amid the cvp. According to West statement he's alive by the grace of God, suffering a concussion, several fractured bones, and multiple lacerations. He said in a local law enforcement report that the accident occurred after an unidentified vehicle cut in front of West and another motorcyclist. West represented Florida's 22nd congressional district from 2011-2013. He's currently running for Chairman of the Texas Republican Party. In Waco, I'm XX.

Thailand is reporting no new cv cases and no deaths for the first time this month. XX has more.

Thailand is reporting no new cases today Sunday and just three yesterday. Today marks the fourth day this month with no new cases and there have been no new deaths reported for more than two weeks. Thailand was the first country outside China to report a cv case back in January. Since then there have been just 3040 reported with 56 reported deaths. International passenger flights into Thailand are banned until July.
