The program is in VOA Special English. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist. Americans hear these words often. People say them in schools, offices and factories. Broadcasts on radio and television used them. This is high muse miougt of words been used.

Workers in the office, our afraid try to use the new computer system. The employer tells them “not be foolish, you do not to be a rocket scientist to learn about them” he says. Or high school students can not seem to understand something their teacher is explaining. “Come on” he says “you do not to be a rocket scientist to understand these.” Or a company that makes soap tries to sell its products on television. “You do not to be a rocket scientist to see our soap is cleans better.” The company says. These words sent a strong message. They said “you do not to be an extremely intelligent to understand something.

”How did the expression began?” No one seems to know for sure. But an official of American Space Agency NASA says” the expression just grew. ” “it grew” he says” just because rocket scientists probably are the most intelligent people around.” Not everyone would agree. Some people are considered more intelligent than rocket scientists. For example, a person who speaks and reads fifteen languages. Or a medical doctor who operates on the breed. Still, many people wouldn’t agree that there is something special about scientists who build rockets. Maybe, it has to do that wouldn’t the mystery of space travel.

A movie pictures from before World War two showed a man named ** landing on the planet of Mars. He was a hero who can defeats any enemy of outer space. Rocket scientist is different kind of hero. He or she can make space travel possible. Rocket scientist, however, can have problems just like everyone else.
