cross party 得看上下文，跨党派，党派间，两党，多党……

 

如：

 

There is growing cross-party recognition that welfare states need to support a country's ability to compete, not undermine it - hence active labour market measures. 

   
逐渐形成的跨党派共识是：福利国家必须要提高而不是削弱一个国家的竞争力，因此就要采取积极的劳动力市场措施。

 

如果大写：Cross Party， 没准还是“十字党”呢？

我觉得普特的音频文件并不算大，如昨天的 Spelial English 的 FEATURE（15分钟） 才 1.71Mb，不能算大。但声音效果很差，不知是原始文件如此，还是转换的问题。平时的文件并不常常是这样。

Pull in the reins of your horse and look around -- you will see patches of a deeper green, and in these, mushrooms are plentiful.你朝着它策马前去，就很容易在这三四丈宽的一圈沁绿的酥油草丛里，发现象夏天夜空里的繁星似的蘑菇。

 

上例中的 Pull in the reins 应当是此短语的愿意。但这个汉译不准确。不是“策马前去”，而是“勒马四望”，会看见一片碧绿的草地，草丛中有很多蘑菇。

近来几乎天天登录普特，就是在外面，也是用笔记本登录浏览。但却收到这样的邮件（见附图）。不知何故？

原来如此，可以体谅。只是不知道“37天”是怎么算出来的。看来你也收到了类似的邮件了吧。

 

我注册普特3年了（其中潜水1年多）。近两年来几乎天天登录，听写、改贴，出门在外也尽量不间断。坚持的结果是：从听不懂Special English,到如今可以听NPR News了。我觉得学外语没什么好办法，唯一的办法就是坚持——坚持——再坚持！

路透社将 deputy attorney general 和 associate attorney general 都译成“司法部副部长”似乎有点问题,，这两者一定有所区别吧？

看来学英语也是学政治、学经济、学文化。

 

听某一段新闻感觉到难，往往是因为对该新闻的背景不熟悉。google一下往往可以解决问题。
