 President Bush has issued an emergency declaration for California, opening a way for more federal assistance for fire crews battling hundreds of wildfires there, most sparked by lightening.

 

标红处也有人听成lighting，不过我觉得应该是lightning。

而且mp3音频也都这么多年了，不太好换把？

你可以去和青城山接触下哈~偶都好久没和小杜联系了也~~~

this is one sentence from the news of VOA on June 29, could you tell me here "turnout" serves as a verb or noun? what "s the exact meaning in Chinese?

第一你引用的新闻本身就是错误的．标红的那句才是正确的．

这条新闻的意思是当时就被认为可能成为民主党总统候选人的奥巴马声称此次大选（他能否胜出）很大程度上取决于投票的西班牙裔选民的数量。

慢速英语里面的听写文件好像也有rm格式的吧，其实都一样。我来问问

前段时间，国内好些个媒体不是热炒美国黑水保安公司在伊拉克大开杀戒，滥杀无辜嘛。这句话的意思就跟那有关系，
说要的伊拉克方面要终止这些外国保安公司的保安们在伊拉克的豁免权，因为他们太 trigger-happy 啦，呵呵。

我看ST节目导航里说VOA比NPR要简单一些。。。。但我貌似现在停下来最难的就是VOA了。。。单词不少。。。声音有时还很沙哑。。。。大家怎么看呢？ 还有，各位听写一片5分钟的standard文本一般用多少时间？？我怎么要将近1个半小时才行？

这个要看播音员风格的，总体来说npr要难一些，因为npr毕竟是一个偏地方性的电台，有时还会有地方口音，播的内容也会更加localized，所以会有赛马比赛之类的一些报道，在voa的1min里肯定是找不到的。

 

不过，依稀记得，以前有Npr的一个女播音员讲得语速还跟SP的速度差不多 所以难度说不准拉。

NPR要难多了，时不时蹦出个俚语，字典上很难查到。 另外五分钟的稿子，用一个半小时听完，在我看来已经很厉害了，当然在讲究质量的情况下。
