"And the issue is whether the non-profit company billed the city for work that was never performed. "

 

“问题是这家非盈利公司是否将根本没干的活就列了该市的费用？”

 

这句话实在吃不准，关键是这个bill弄不明白。求教。

这个板块唯一不好的地方就是一个人的问题另一个人回答了，其他有其他更好答案的人就不出来回答问题了

anyway希望情况在这里能有例外，因为我只谈偶的看法而已。。。

 

bill嘛，给市政府寄账单的意思，也就是向政府要钱了~

没看全文，单从这个句子上理解：问题就在于这家非盈利的公司是否根本没完成项目就向市政府发出了账单~

 

 

么上下文，理解若错了莫怪

原文应是 "At issue is whether the non-profit company billed the city for work that was never performed. "

 

我听错了，总觉得 at issue 是副词词组，不能做主语。google了一下，又多是  The point at issue is whether ……，就糊涂了。

 

你的解释是对的。多数情况下，能弄懂意思就行了，本栏目毕竟是听力练习，不是翻译练习。

看了翩然的帖子，还有一处不明：

标红处大家听的都是"aren't", 我总觉得是 "are". 如果是"aren't",这个“t”音应该与后面的 "in"连读，吞不掉啊。By the way, 这句话怎么翻译？

偶觉得那里应该是 "aren't",

 

根据上下文~The remaining question is **********

 

这样来看是还有问题亟待解决~所以应该不是are in the clear了~

 

而且偶听那个读音也是"aren't"哦~

 

有时候不连读应该也是正常的~个人习惯撒~

1, 原来整理稿就是herald和sharper（不用double p）后来，被另一个版主误改了，抱歉！我已经改回来了。

偶也觉得那应该是are才对，in the clear ：not experiencing something bad

 

偶不太懂翻译，大概意思偶觉得就是 "虽然Delta 和Northwest 进展都很顺利，但是还剩下一个问题，就是......" 理解的不太好，但是听上去不像是aren't
