Governments around the world are offering to help Burma deal with the facts of the deadly cyclone Saturday. The United States, China, and the European Union have all promised money and emergency supplies. India has sent two navy ships with food, medicine and other supplies. The first airplane carrying foreign aid arrived in Rangoon Tuesday from Thailand. Burmese official now say the cyclone killed more than 22,000 people, about 41,000 people are reported missing. That number is expected to rise. The storm left hundreds of thousands of people without   ,many people are without food and drinking water.

 

Chinese president Hu Jintao has arrived in Japan for a five day goodwill visit. It is the first trip by a Chinese president to the country in 10 years. Before leaving Beijing Mr. Hu said he look forward to a friendly atmosphere during his visit. He also said he believes the two nations can settle a dispute over oil drilling rights in the East China Sea. Mr. Hu and Japanese Prime minister Yasuo Fukuda are respected to discuss climate change, economic cooperation and other issues.

 

The Tibetan government    says recent talks between its representatives and Chinese officials were a good first step. One of the Tibetan representatives Rudy Gary described the talks as honest. He also confirmed that a second side of meeting would be held, but he didn’t say when or where the meetings would take place. Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Qin Gang said the talks were only a beginning. He also blamed the Dalai Lama for the recent unrest in Tibet. The Tibetan’s     leader has denied the claim.

 

A suicide bomb attack in Pakistan has killed at least 3 people. Police officials say a man on a bicycle exploded his bomb after being stopped by police at security position in the Northwestern town of Banu. A policeman was among the death. The attack is the second since Pakistan’s new    government began talks with militants led by        . He is accused of   the murder of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.         Has been linked to the Taliban and         .It is clear to        during the talks. He has since said no peace agreement is possible until Pakistani’s troop withdraw from         areas near the Afghan border.

 

Russian and United States officials have said a        nuclear agreement. America ambassador William Burns and Russian’s top nuclear officials signed the agreement Tuesday in Moscow. The signing came on the last day of the term of Russian president Vladimir Putin. The agreement will permit businesses from Russia and the United States to expand nuclear trade between their countries. Both the United States congress and the Russian parliament must prove the agreement. Nuclear cooperation between the two countries has slowed in recent years because the disagreements of Iran’s nuclear program.
