【1】Governments around the world are offering to help Burma deal with effects of the deadly cyclone Saturday. The Unite States, China and European Union have all promised money and emergency supplies. India has sent two navy ships with food, medicine and other supplies. The first airplane carrying foreign aid arrived in Rangoon Tuesday from Thailand. Burmese officials now say the cyclone killed more than twenty-two thousand people, about forty-one thousand people are reported missing. That number is expected to rise. The storm left hundreds of thousands of people without shelter. Many people are without food and drinking water.

 

【2】Chinese president Hujintao has arrived in Japan for a five-day good will visit. It is the first trip by Chinese president to the country in ten years. Before leaving Beijing, Mr Hu said he look forward to a friendly atmosphere during his visit, he also said he believes the two nations can settle a dispute over oil during rights in the east china sea.
