提高英语听力能力 找对方法很重要!

home work

I’m Hilarie Barsky from Good Morning America, now my guest is Cindy Crawford. Happy pre-mother’s day. (oh, thank you, yeh.) do your kids do anything special? Er, I’m sure I will be getting some object made out of clay. Yeh, I actually saw them working on it last week when I was volunteering at school and I was there like you’re not supposed to be seeing it. Ok, don’t see it, but yes, I’m gonna getting a clay hand in fact. There’re six in eight. (Yes.) And they’ve made you eco-friendly in a way. Well, as soon as you become a mother, you start having more concern about the planet that you are bringing children, you know, to live on. But also the school that they go to is very environmentally aware and it’s just a big part of curriculum there, and it’s kind of show me that I need to pay more attention to it and we’ve learned from each other, you know, like we go art school then, there is beach cleanup every year and we all go, we do it together. And I think that day if they saw me wasting plastic or whatever, they would say something, it’s kinda like smoking in the house. If anyone smoke, the 5-year-old is like, mom, no, I mean, I don’t smoke, but I’m seeing kid, my mother smokes and my daughter is just so matter her, how I told her but she ain’t gonna stop, but it’s same with wasting plastic or, you know, they know turn off the water when you’re not, you’re brushing your teeth. They don’t just leave it run. They’ve already known that. Wow! They’re so savvy. But I think that they just make us seem like old-timees that we have to learn that, they’re just growing up in the world with that. It is the way it is. and tell us how to develop this reusable water bottle. Well, I teamed up with pure water filtration which just, they make water filters for home use. We’ve teamed up to make reusable automaton bottles. We call it “thirsty for change”. And even I started just myself, OK, I’m not gonna use plastic water bottles at home, I started just but easy. And I stop 6 water bottles a day, 6 plastic water bottles which are just 2000 a year. I mean, it’s so, I thought wow, and then my kids see me doing it, my husband sees me doing it and the people who’re at my house. I just have one of the pictures sitting out, I have a room tempo *one * call. And that’s what I give people now. And then, when you make once more change like that, you know, well, what else can I do, it’s empowering to do little changes like that. I was interested. you said that I threw out some bottles of water this morning and put them into the recyclable bin in my apartment building, I couldn’t believe how many bottles we thrown out. It’s like 50 billion bottles, I think, a year that we use in America, and only less than 15% are recycled. So that’s 86% unrecycled. And you know, besides the financial application, that part is made from petroleum, from oil. And I think the number on that was something like if we didn’t use, if Americans didn’t use plastic bottles, it would fuel a hundred thousand cars for a year. It’s incredible. And when you think about that and the cars because parts of cost of bottled water is the bottle that we throw out. And also you know there’s a lot of health concerns about when those water bottles were heated up because it will get in tar. It’s getting into the water, I mean the aluminum just not leaves anything into the water. Plus, I mean, I think New York everyone has a drinking water system here. (it’s great.) but where they test it is at the plant. Sometimes it’s going through very old pipes that actually get in your apartment. So even though it tastes good, there’re stuff you might not see. And when you filter water into pure water, it’s the real-time filter, that’s atriple filtration system, and it actually tastes great. And you know that you’re not gonna any led or any the other, you know things that could be lurking in very old pipes.
