[1] China says it has sucessfully reduced water levels in a lake created by the big earthquake last month in Sichuan Province. The Xinhua News Agency says the province’s top official made an announcement after water began flowing from Tangjiashan Lake. The report said half of the water in the lake has been removed. Efferts to reduce water levels began on Saturday. Chinese troops used anti-tank weapons to explode the rocks surrounding the lake. About 250,000 people were order to leave the area. More than 1 million others were treatened by flooding if the lake burst.

 

[2] An American deplomatei has arrived in North Korea. The American Embassy in South Korea says Sung Kim cross at the border village Panmujang. His visit is aimed at speeding up the efforts by North Korea to disable its nuclear centres. Mr. Kim is the State Department top Korean expert. He is to return to South Korea on Wednesday before returning to Washington.

 

[3] Protesters gather in South Korea’s capital Tuesday in the biggest demonstration yet against government. The protesters are angry about the government’s decision to suspand a ban on beaf imports from the United States. Reports says as many as hundreds of thousands of people took part in the demonstration. Tens of thousands of riot police and soiders were deployed to control the crowd. Large shipping containers are being used to block streets around the offical home of South Korea’s president. Earlier Tuesday a government spokesman said the Prime Minister Han Song-su and his cabinet offer to resign during a weekly cabinet meeting. It is not clear if South Korean President Lee Myung-bak accepted the resignations.

 

[4] President Bush says Iran faces international action if it does not * its uranium enrichment program. The president spoke in slovenia at his final meeting with European Union leaders. He warned of the dangers the world will face if Iran develop nuclear weapons. Mr. Bush says now is the time for all nations to work together to stop Iran’s nuclear program. Mr. Bush thanks to the European Union countries and their supports in Iraq and Afghanistan.

 

[5] The rising cost of oil imports push American’s trade deposit for April to its highest level in more than a year. The commerce department says the differents between American’s exports and imports was nearly 61 billion dollars for the month , that is nearly 8% more than the trade deposit for March. Late Monday, American central bank chairman Bernarke says the threat of inflation is growing. He also said the threat of slowing economy events remains but is easy. Investors consider his commands as a sign the federal reserve has indid a long serious of interest rate cuts.
