提高英语听力能力 找对方法很重要!

J'entends Plus La Guitare is a film written and directed by the French filmmaker Philippe Garrel. It's originally made in 1991 and it's having a limited and somewhat belated release in the United States.

It's a very unusual movie and a very intriguing one. It's about a long and somewhat tumultuous love affair between Marianne, a German woman, and Gerard. Their affair is based loosely on Garrel's own long affair with Nico, the German singer. And the film follows them through the years as they break up, get back together, and descend into drug addiction.

But this isn't really a narrative film. It does relate the events in their relationship in chronological order, but it's much more of a kind of meditative, lyrical inquiry into the nature of love and desire and need. It's a very philosophical film in a way. There's a lot of long discussions about the meaning of love, there're not a lot of what we think of as dramatic scenes. The main dramatic architecture of this story takes place off-screen and what we see are series of conversations and encounters sort of inbetween those moments. But it's because of the very evocative and haunting scene with some
very complicated emotions, it's not in any way a simple romance or simple break-up story.

It investigated the psychology of love and very oblique and teasing manner, but also one that very subtle and interesting. The charaters are not especially sympathetic, it's almost as if to tell love story truthly, Garard can't make them too likeable, or even very likeable at all, but that kinda beside the point. It's not about engagement or sympathy but getting us to think about and explore in a kind of cerebral and non-linear intuitive way, what it is the constitute traction between two people, how they can lead each other astray, what can go wrong and just how the passage of time can both intensify and sooth feelings.
