提高英语听力能力 找对方法很重要!

HOMEWORK

In one study, American and Eastern subjects will ask why the fish moves as they did. American subjects pay more attention the individual fish, individual’s movement, individual’s emotion and individual’s desirers, and Asian subjects pay more attention to the group fish.

Next day we ask to pay attention to the blue fish on the right, and then describe the blue fish’s behavior.

Americans always talk about individual fish, why did it get away from the group, entire group,//// group, why didn’t it be the leader of the group? Chinese or Japanese students were more likely to say the individual should get along with the group fish, the group fish keep out of the individual fish, and they don’t like this individual fish.

These cultural differences and how interpret behavior can lead a starkly different vision of events.

A fact conducted by Tang Lu by tragic coincidence.

One night, I got a phone call from a friend who said I should turn on the TV. And suddenly I saw a familiar face on the screen; I knew the guy because he did is my wife’s roommate in China. I talked to my wife about this, well if he married my wife’s, he probably wouldn’t be such a, you know, a murderer.

We thought it too bad he didn’t get married. Tang’s American friends and press responded quite differently to the crime. Saying that Gang Lu was a tie bond and wouldn’t kill the women along with himself. But the Chinese papers had another point of view. Chinese media report with basically about how he had a terrible relationship with other people, how he couldn’t adjust to American cultures, and how easy to get a gun in United States. Basically, if he were in China, he would not commit the crime.

If we have fundamental differences, how we interpret others’ behavior, how do we own our behavior ourown sense of self?

Research suggests how we make sense of the world depends large part on who we think we are. What we think are supposed to be doing in this life as we engage with our culture social meanings and practices.
