I can’t really see what the point is. We can’t be certain this is what….if they are too young.
Should the patient deflect with disease remain at home? The care gave very often being expose.
“Away from her” the first feature film written and directed by Sarah Polly, a Canadian actress, is based on a short story about a Canadian author Alice Monroe and stars Jordon Pinset and Julie Christi as a married couple facing the ravages of all times of disease. That description makes the movie sound maybe a little gloomy than it is. It does deal with devastating consequence of the disease, as you see the vibrant and beautiful Fiona played by Julie Christi, slowly lose her memory and her sense of identity.
The movie is also very smart, very sharp, comical pointed. It’s wonderfully observed portrait of a long-term marriage.
“30 days is such a long time after 44 years.”
“I don’t think I like the place.”
“I don’t think we should be looking for something we’d like, Grand. I don’t think we’ll ever find that.”
The acting of this movie is very fine. Jordon Pinset plays Grant as Fiona’s husband, very good actor, as her is sort of shaggy, dumpy charisma. He wasn’t always faithful to his wife. But you can tell he really loves her. Julie Christi, is just luminous in this movie. She lost very little of her glamour, beauty and intelligent.
“You know what I’d like? I like to make love. I don’t let you go, because I need stay here. If you make it hard for me and I make it so hard to fix it up.”
And the other reason to see Sarah Polly, at 28 has shown herself to be very adapted not only at making films but at exploring the theme of mature, old-age love with great sensitivity and insight.
She takes Alice Monroe’s story which is very perfect in his own right and turned into the movie, that’s very nearly so.
