For roughly 5 hours, the leaders of world’s 20 leading economies gathered around one table. Their goal to reverse the economic slump that is growing country by country, and to find a way to ensure the current financial crisis never happens again.

 

Leaders of the major industrialized countries came to the summit, but so too did the president and prime Ministers of emerging economical giants, like China, India and Brazil.

 

Together members of these diverse group, the G-20, pledged to step up efforts to stimulate their economies and they stressed their support for greater oversight and regulation of the global financial system, but the leaders acknowledged that coming up with  the joints specific plan of action will take time. They told their finance ministers to work out the details and announced they would meet again by the end of April 2009.
