[Homework]【整理】2009-11-01 小彼得案之后更多的小孩受到了呵护
HW:
this've never been so much attention focus on keeping our children safe, in the wake of the Peter Case, care * have soared. so much so the court can't keep up, leaving many children lost in the system.
sarah miles knows how that feels, she spends 12 years at her childhood in care.
i felt like in a puzzle, i wanna describe it, but it feels like a big glass in the puzzle. everytime i moved around, it's always broken inside. that's how i was feeling, broken inside with a plant glass. everytime i moved around, that big glass of me went, the piece of me went.
recently there's been a 47% rising care *, a black * buliding and many blaming * cast, the children and family call-service. they say it's an organization in chaos, failing to employ suffient stuff. there are currently over 12,300 cases going through the system with the back of 721cases waiting to go through the court. but it takes on average 60 weeks for a decision to be made on a child's care case. the boss of care cathy meets the system under strain, but denys it's in melt-down. even with the next jolt 1.6 million pounds from government, he says funding remains an issue.
we would love to have more, but we are in the real world that difficult financial budget for public services and demand slicing, recently have *** , but i would say that most children get pretty good service.
sarah now works with children in the care system, there's always a balance to strike between deciding on the case quickly and insuring their right decision is made. she fears though is ultimately the children who end up caught in the middle.
*** sky news
