[HOMEWORK] 2010-02-02 Reuters Video News -- China Workers Prepare for Holiday
Millions of Chinese have started travelling home ahead for lunar new year holidays this month. Trains are expected to be packed with railway stations breathing themselves for as many as 210 million passengers joining the week home on holiday. Crowds of people have been queue in the counters of Beijing’s West Railway station in the hope of securing the press ticket home.
“It is not easy to buy tickets. I wanted to buy a ticket on the 7th. But the tickets had already been sold out. There are only tickets for slow trains. No tickets are available for the express train. That means I have to sit 12 more hours because I’m taking the slow train”
For many of China’s migrant plakets *, the Spring festival holidays are the only opportunity they have to see their families back home.
“The spring festival is coming soon. I’m travelling back home to see my parents. They are expecting me home. This is probably the only time I can be with them each year and my family is great. Nowadays, travel is very convenient.”
But crowded the patches are only the beginning, As the end of the holidays, days it is expected to be justice busy.
