This is the VOA Special English Education Report.

Today, we answer a question from a listener in C*. John A* wants to know the costs of undergraduate and graduate study in the United States. Well, the first thing to know is that prices are different from school to school.Private colleges and universities generally cost more than public ones.Another thing to keep in mind is that, not all students pay a school's published price.Financial aid and scholarships may reduce the cost.

Here are a few numbers for this school year from the college board organization. The average published price for undergraduate study at 4 year public college was about 7000 dollars. That was for students from in state.Students from other states as wll as international students paid an average of more than 18000 dollars. This is the bad news.International students often have to pay the highest prices.

And this averages were only for tuition and feeds。 Food, housing, books and supplies can add 10000-12000 dollars a year. College boards says, the average tuition at private college was about 26000 dollars. Many students save money by starting their education at 2-year public college, also known as a community college. The average tuition this year was about 2500 dollars. A few American colleges provide a free education, including the military and merchant marine academies .

They accept some foreign students.W* college is a small question school in M* that pays all first year costs for its foreign students. But they're expected to pay 1000 dollars a year after that.Summer jobs are provided to help meet this cost.Cost for graduate study in the United States also differ from school to school and even from program to program. Here, too, public universities charge more for out of state tuition。

For example, at the university of c*, out of state graduate tuition averaged about 18000 dollars this year, in state, was about 9000.American students often have to take out loans to help pay for their educations.

President Obama recently signed into a law, a bill that changes the student loan system. We have more on that next week. And international students can learn much more about studying, in the United States on our website。Look for the foreign student series at voaspecialenglish.com.

And that's the VOA Special English Education Report written by Nancy, s*. I'm Steve, Ember.

This is the VOA special Education Report.

Today we answer a question from a listener in Columbia. John Andersen wants to know the costs of under-graduate and graduate study in United States.

Well, the first thing to know ia that prices are different from school to school. Private colleges and universities generally cost more than public ones.

Another thing to keep in mind is that not all students pay a school's published price. Financial aid and scholarships may reduce the cost.

Here are a few numbers for this school year from the college board organization: the average published price for under-graduate study at a 4-year public college was about 7,thousand dollars. That was for students from in-state. Students from other states as well as international students pay the average of more than 18 thousand dollars.

This is the bad news: international students often have to pay the highest prices. And these averages were only for tuition and feeds. Food, housing, books and supplies can add 10 to 12 thousand dollars a year. The college board says the average tuition at a private college was about 26 thousand dollars.

Many students save money by starting their education at a 2-year public college, also known as a community college. The average tuition this year was about 2,500 dollars.

A few American colleges provide a free education including the Military and M&M Academes. They accept some foreign students.

Maria College is a small Christian school in Maria contuckey that pays all first year costs for its foreign students. But they are expected to pay 1 thousand dollars a year after that. Summer jobs are provided to help meet this cost.

Coats for graduate study in the United States also differ from school to school and even from program to program. Here too, public universities charge more for out-of-state tuition. For example, at the university of contuchkey, out-of-state graduate tuition averaged about 18 thousand dollars this year. In-state was about 9 thousand.

American students often have to take out loans to help pay for their education. President Obama recently signed into a law to build the changes the students loan system. We'll have more on that next week. And international students can learn much more about studying in United States on our website. Look for the foreign-student-series at VOAspecialenglish.com.

This is the VOA special English Education Report.

Today we answer a question from a listener in C. J. wants to know undergraduate and graduate study in the Unite States.

Well, the first thing to know is that prices are different from school to school.Private collages and universities generally cost more than publica ones.

Another thing to keep in mind is that not all students pay a school's published price.Finacial aid and scholarships may reduce the cost. Here are a few numbers for this school year from the collage board organization.

The average published price for undergraduate study at four year publica collage was about 6,000 dollars. That was for students from in State, students from other states as well as international students paid at average of more than 18,000 dollars.

This is the bad news, international students often have to pay the highest prices. And this averages were only for turition and fees, food, housing, books and suppies can add ten to twelve thousand dollars a year. The collage worlds says the average tuition at a private collage was about 26,000 dollars.

Many students save money by starting their education at a two year public collage also known as a community collage. The average tuition this year was about 2,500 dollars.A few America collages provide a free education including the minitory and merchan marine academies. They accept some foreign students.

B.collage is a small question school in C.that pays all first year cost for its foreign students. But they are except to pay one thousand dollars a year after that.Summer jobs are privated to help meet this costs.Costs for graduated study in the Unite States also differ from school to school and even from program to program.

    H. public universities charge more for out of state tuition. For example,at the university of C. out of state graduate tuition average about 18,000 dollars this year.Instead was about 9,000.

American students often have to take out loans to help pay for their education.President Obama recently signed into law a bill that changes the students loan system. We'll have more on that next week.

And international students can learn much more about studying in Unite States on our website.Look for the foreign student series at voaspecialenglish.com. And that's the VOA special English Education Report.Written by Nancy.I'm Steve Ember.
