So how did it happen? Well, cash for clunkers and Toyota's P.R. nightmare helped a bit. But mostly it was bankruptcy which lightened their financial burdens like bloated union pensions. A line of well reviewed vehicles in the pipeline for years is finally catching on with the public and with the bailout came a massive shake-up in management.
