Massive oil spill in the Gulf which is now 130 miles long, 70 miles wide. High winds, waves driving it closer to Louisiana which has declared the state of emergency along with Mississippi, Alabama and Florida where the oil  could reach by Monday. Cost of this clean-up could cop the top twelve and a half billion dollars that's not counting losses to the fishing and tourism industry. Our mad government is in Venice Louisiana with the very latest on the race to stop it all. Mike, morning.

Good morning, Bill. Now normally you would see shrimp boats head out from here, but we've just known last night that the shrimping season for this part of Mississippi has been canceled down. To help in the effort, there are 6,000 national guardsmen being deployed here. They are gonna have to fight not just that thick sludge coming in, but some of the worst weather we've seen since this all began.

This disaster may be man-made, but right now, Mother Nature is hampering the clean-up. Those winds topping 20 miles an hour are keeping clean-up ships idle. BP -- the company responsible for this spill has deployed half a million feet of boom to help contain it and it's asked for a million more. But the company and the coastguards say even then they may not stop the sludge from reaching the coast.
