Cambridge University has inspired seeming credible careers with its huge lists of famous students. Just streets away, 6-form peoples of Hill’s Road College off felling so certain about their future. The prospective rising fee is taking a big cat on their plans, and potentially costing them of their place in university in 2012.

I’m definitely considering going aboard, because it’s a lot cheaper, especially post-graduate.

I know a lot students who now say “may go to apprenticeship or something”, because it’s just not practical, or even affordable to go to university anymore.

Today, a letter from Nick to declare to the office of fare access should give better support for poor students. It’ll mean that universities have to explain their decision to increase fees about 6000 pounds a year. They also have to outline how they plans to help the less well-off; and their targets will be monitored every year.

Cambridge University has already come out to say their 8 plans, charge 9000 pounds a year for every single one of their courses. It still goes to be proved by the university’s council, but it seems why these traditional academic universities will be aiming for those extreme high prices. Because just across the city is Anglia Ruskin University, formerly a poly technique, even here, they say, students are going to pay 8000 pounds a year in fees.

Studying in Cambridge already caused these students surround 24000 pounds in fees in maintenance and allowance, even more would to put them off.

First, they need to be going up, not to down. They need to be given to wider section of students who are suffering financial hardship. They need to be doing more targets of access in more areas in credit that could help them than before.

I think if universities are going to be ultimate right to the top in terms of charging about 9000 pounds, charging maximum fees, then it need to put much more pressure upon them by government, and also much more monitoring of what they are doing.

The higher fees are unset and kick in until 2012, but already the national union of students is warning the most universities will go for that maximum 9000 pounds a year, a decision that could stay many off the puff to higher education.
