Norway is one of Europe’s top tourist destinations. Adrenaline junkies from all over the world come here to try their hand of base jumping, Kayaking, ski jumping and just about any other extreme activities you can think of. Moving glacial ice over thousands of years created these impressive mountains and valleys, now enjoyed by all. For relaxation or adventure, Norway is an unforgettable destination for an ultimate journey.

With a population of just over 4.5 million people, Norway is sparsely populated but highly developed. It has obtained one of the highest standards of living in the world by having a large amount of natural resources compared to the size of population. The coastline is broken by enormous fields and scattered with 50,000 islands. Some of these fields are exceptionally deep, reaching depths of over one kilometer below sea level.

Norway is one of the most mountainous countries in Europe. A large part of it are dominated by this high terrain. A combination of the high altitudes, the northerly location and the moisturefrom the Atlantic means that most of these islands are covered with permanent ice caps. This dramatic landscape was formed by prehistoric glaciers. The area surrounding Voss is a natural starting point for exploring Norway. The mountainous landscape has made it a popular location for extreme sports, such as base jumping.

“Base jumping, rocks!”

“Base jumping is just about the freedom of the air.”

“I’m going to jump off this cliff.”

“Let’s go!”

“Look forward to a jump-off in row, jump a good one.”

“Let’s go flying.”

Base jumping started off as a sport in the late 70s as sky divers looked for a new kick. It involves jumping off a fixed point, like tall buildings or bridges. Norway is one of the most picturesque locations for base jumpers who like a bit of outdoor action. Here, they jump off cliff faces. This is a high-risk activity, far more dangerous than sky diving.
