Starting a career shouldn't be easy, but it should be possible. This training has given Anfield in North London, has allowed some young people to get onto apprenticeships. Others are still waitting, along with so many others.
When in finds 16~24 years old are at out of work, that's approching a million young people, but efforts to get them back into employment are having some success. Last year teenager apprenticeships rose by 10 percent, and it was 21 percent rise in the apprentices 18, 19 to 24. ** has been on the Anfield academic scheme for almost 2 years.
When I first came in, I was not the best student, but now, I am more going open and more learned and what you want in life, you have to make it, it just does't come straight to you.
Anfield was one of many places let us asking why so many young people were rioting and looting.
It was blaming criminal behavior sinificant numbers of young people do feel helpless about their prospect. When we spoke the loots of South London last week, the theme of constant rejection was part of their explaination.
Come out my CV? You know, to the place I come, but not, they know is me, so, obviously they know is me from that I am not stop doing it from a different way.
Like some of them, ** has spent over a year and a half looking for a job, now, she has one.
I think is quite tough, because there is not a lot of opportunities, but you have to find the opportunities.
Compounding the problem is the numbers of graduates now chasing jobs traditionally failed by apprentices and school leavers.
It's getting worse because you have gotten the people with very high level qulification coming out of the universities, not finding jobs in their normal fields, now they are actually going for the jobs that most these people were normally began for the high street, retail shops, the hairdressers, the ministrators.
Even for those like ** , who yet have found employments, the free training provided here is giving a confidence to persever.
Before I strated here, to be honest I wouldn't be able to go to an interview, actually too scare to, my confident is growing up, so much easier now.
Researchers shows those do struggle to find the work for years of the time may never fully catch up in terms of wages. If you have a slow starting any race, it will affect your chances and eventually winning.
