Hi, I'm Donna Barns. I'm a life and relationship coach and owner of NY Dating Coach in New York city.
In this cilp we'll talk about how to tell about someone's lie. Well if someone that you know very well and they are acting funny or strange, trust your instincts. Your instincts are ususally right. But a big telltale is eye contact. In a normal conversation, someone makes eye contact at least 50 percent of the time. So if they are really avoiding eye contact with you, that means they are probably being dishonest. If you start asking them questions about it and they get defensive, that's a big sign they might be lying. If they are saying contradictive things and they say one thing and something else that doesn't really make sense, that's probably a sign. And if they try to change the subject, they just start something else and onto the next thing, and you try to come back to it, and they don't want to, that's probably a sign that they are lying. So if you know somebody really well, you can generally get a sense when they are not being way how they usually are. And that's a good big sign that they are lying. Trust your instincts, your instincts are usually pretty accurate.

Hi, I'm Donna Barnes. I'm a life and relationship coach, and owner of NY Dating Coach in New York City.
In this clip we’ll talk about how to tell if someone's lying. Well, if it’s someone that you know very well, and they’re acting funny or strange, trust your instincts. Your instincts are usually right. But a big telltale is eye contact. In a normal conversation, someone makes eye contact at least 50 percent of the time. So if they’re really avoiding eye contact with you, that means they’re probably being dishonest. If you start asking them questions about it and they get defensive, that's a big sign that they might be lying. If they’re saying contradicting things, they say one thing and then something else and it doesn’t really make sense, that's probably a sign. And if they try to change the subject, if they just throw something out there and then they’re onto the next thing and you’re trying to come back to it and they don't want to, that’s probably a sign that they’re lying. So if you know somebody really well, you can genuinely get a sense when they’re not being quite how they usually are and that's a good big sign that they’re lying. Trust your instincts. Your instincts are usually pretty accurate.
