Well, I have designed for the First Lady for a long time now. And it's a wonderful opportunity for someone else to have it as well. I think it's the gift that I was given. I can't, what would be a good word, I can't own it, I can't hold it. I think somebody else should really feel what I felt and be a part of this moment. Supposedly, it was one of the most watched at-one-moment dress for a moment. Some address that was the swearing in. I dressed that moment. The colour was, I called it lemon grass because I felt it was o________. I felt it was a colour that represents a change. Rubbin first got the phone call from his mom, saying, "Oh, M_______ is wearing such, such a dress. It's not black and white because we thought it was gonna be the black and white one that she was going to wear." And Rubbin said, "Oh, I guess she is now wearing I_____." So we came down, got to work, and the email starts, starts to, everybody starts emailing if confrimed is it about T_____. I want it from everywhere. She walks out of the church and I realized it's my dress. I always say that I felt like Betsy Ross, Betsy Ross, the flag. And you wove that moment into that clock and that’s a big honour. I felt amazing honored. |
