when first built in 1515, hampton court palace was the most imposing stately
home in the entire country, it surpassed the even mansion of wealthiest nobility,
but its owner was mere commoner, Cardiner Thomas Wolsey, the man who ran England,
Nobles dominate Herry's court, but not Herry's government, the King had put a
low-born man in charge, a man who was once his personal priest,
"Thomas Wolsey, the son of a butcher, was an almoner in 1509, this is the guy
who gives out all the alms to the poor outside the palace gate, within 6 years,
he is the lord chancellor, how did he do it?"
young Herry hated the governing
he's there to go hunting, to joust, but he never had, never did have an interest
paper work.
but young herry had no interest in business, government, what so ever, he found
writing tedious and painful, he delegated everything away./
the churchman was a benificial of tasks throught his way by the king, wolsey
proved a genius of finance and administration, so the king entrusted him
with whatever greater authority |
