HOMEWORK

We are back now with Prince Harry's emotional revelation about his mother princess Diana. It took years for him to open up about how her loss affected him, and now he is sharing a powerful message. ABC's Lama Hasan has more on that in London. Good morning, to you, Lama.

Yeah, good morning to you, Lara. And that powerful message Prince Harry is trying to drive home is this, it's important to talk about grief and, of course, this comes after the prince revealing that it was only until three years ago that he was actually able to open up about his mother's death, regretting staying silent.

Prince Harry speaking out revealing his struggle with talking about his late mother's death.

“I really regret not ever talking about it, yeah, you know. The first 28 years of my life, I never talked about it."

Harry was only 12 when the Princess died in a tragic car crash in Paris. While the world went into a very public mourning, her youngest son says he bottled up his grief.

“It's okay to suffer and but as long as you talk about it, you know, it's not weakness, weakness is having a problem and not recognizing it and not solving that problem.”

Harry who served ten years active duty in the British armed forces believes it's important to spread the message that mental illness can affect anyone.

“You know, whether you're a member of the royal family, whether you're a soldier, whether you're a sports star, whether you are a team sport, individual sport, whether you're a white man driver, whether you're a mother, father, a child, it doesn't really matter. Everyone can suffer.”

The now 31-year-old prince has joined forces with William and Kate to end the stigma around mental illness, bullying and depression. Put their heads together campaign.

“Mental health is just as important as physical health.”

The decision by this generation of Royals to talk about this kind of issues reminds many of Diana's legacy.

“We think about her every day. We all do everything we can to make sure she's never forgotten and carry on all of the special gifts as such that she had and that she portrayed while she was alive. I hope that a lot of my mother's talents are shown in a lot of the work that I do.”

Well, the royal trio are trying to stamp out the stigma surrounding mental health essentially saying this, it doesn't matter who you are, it's okay to suffer but you have to talk about it. Lara.

Yes, you do, Lama, thank you so much.
