“Now let that hand a little bit more relaxed. Here you go. Okay, contact!”

Golf legend Greg Norman is a humbling experience. 61 years old and still in fighting shape, Norman is the winner of over 90 professional events, including two British Opens. In the 80s and 90s, he held the title of the World Best Golfer for more than 300 weeks. Norman’s newest challenge to boost the popularity of the sport during tough times.

“We’ve seen that -- Euro chutes down, playing is down, why do you think that golf is experiencing this decline?”

“Well, time has a huge bearing on what’s happened with golf. It’s taking too long to play golf. And people now, when you have family running with two businesses or people working two jobs, it becomes a little bit more pressure on spending time with the family and friends.”

Norman says the financial crisis tribute to the drop of the number of people able to afford playing golf. He says the best hope of the future lies with millenniums.

“We have to understand how we get out of the old way of thinking about golf. Get out of this box. Kids will passionate about what they have on their devices and communicating with each other almost every second of the day when they have it. So we have to understand how do we tie with them, involving my brand to actually get more trendy, more youthy, get more attractions of the kids saying: ‘Oh my god, this guy is in his 60s, but he gets it. He understands we the millenniums what to go’.”

“How do you get around the time problem? I mean that is…I think it’s…whatever grapple is, when we are talking about speed golf…”

“Maybe there is a trifle(?) golf of course, maybe is a very ancient art, so there is whole new view point that I see taking place. And I’ve seen that in the player, everyone is professional. I’ve seen it in business, and I definitely see it in the golf course and business.”

“It does have to be more affordable?”

“I think so. Affordable with time, affordable with money, you know. I feel for the families…a lot of us are very, very lucky with what life’s given us. But you feel for the person living on the edge, but still want X experience a squad.”

“What do you think of the young players? They seem to me that you have this upcoming source like Jordan Spieth who have the potential to be ambassadors for the game?”

“I have never seen the game of golf as healthy as what it is today at the professional level, at the top X one. You take the top 20 players in the world, I would say 12 or 13 of those are all good enough to carry the number one…”

“On any given day?”

“Any given day.”

My game needs a whole luck to be desire. But to the man who they call the “Great White Shark” X looks better than ever.
