[英伦广角] 2016-11-19 FIFA罚款处罚英格兰和苏格兰

提高英语听力能力 找对方法很重要!
england's player and manager pause to remember ahead of their armistice match against
Scottland, again did this spark more debate about poppies and rememberance in the
oldest football rivalry, the squad train for the final time without poppies on their
kit, but both teams will wear them for the match displayed on the black armband in
defiance of FIFA, they could be fined or have points deductive for breaching a rule
that bans the display of political symbols on national kit. the FA says FIFA has got
it wrong, and all british leigion hopes?? to raise 45 million pounds from its poppy
appeal has backed for them,

"I think it's really important they are giving((??) your opportunity to choose for
themselves, the fact that the football match is happening on armstice day itself,
is so important, so it give the players the opportunity to choose, i think it's
right thing to do, i'm very very grateful for the supporters that they are showing"

the poppy is synonymous for rememberance, but the symbol has become sensitive in recent
years, for some compulsory show of patriotism, fifteen years ago, England played on
November 10. there is no poppy, no protest, today public figures, television
presenter and football club are critisized for not displaying them,

this week BBC for its critisism after it put puppy on the cookie monster in an attempt
to avoid giving offense.

the cenetaph?? will be the center of nationwide two minutes silience, a profound
gesture of gratitude and respect to those lost their lives in conflicts, but the debate
on football and poppies has rised a question as to whether not wearing one of these
amounts to dis-respect and whether rememberance can still be a personal and private
choice.

also Michael Morpurgo has written movingly about world war one, most famously in
world horse, he belive the poppy is personal but profoundly important.

"what we don't like about poppy is 'should' factor, i don't think any one should wear
it, i wear it, it is my business, and if other people wish to wear it, that's their
business, we are a free country, no 'should' about it, if team as a whole are decided
, english team, scottish team, the wales team, whatever, to wear poppies, of course,
why not"

while england and sottland defy FIFA, wales and northern ireland will not wear their
poppies, except there are many other ways to honour the fallen

This morning, debate will be still by silence,
