do I think the brexit encourage other countries to leave the European union? will you
as politicans hate direct question you find those very hot? normally in the middle of
week I would be a primary minister of questions and I could be pretty grueling as I',
so sure you've seen on your television set, and I am trying to give you direct answer
on this which is, I think the answer to that is "No".
I think we'll go see elections in France, go see election in Poland, and we just have
this referendum in Italy, and of course other countries have their concern with the
European union, particularly, as I said, with the EURO, the currency the west is working
,but I think Braitain particularly never allowed, as I said in my speech, never allow
institution of European union, even those who want to remain certainly felt though
a fetch for the way the organization worked, we knew we needed to be there for trade
and corporation and working together, but the affection for this institution
particularly as braitain, has had such sucessful independant history where our own
institution simply wan't there, I would say when thinking France I will guess that
Marine Le Pen won't win the election, I would guess that whatever happens in Holland
there will ultimately be the majority of staying inside the European union, as I
said in my speech, I think the question, a really xxx question is what happens to the
feature of the euro, because I think that does xxx some xxx. we have no growth too
long, and they will stop to question in the way the currency works and where it's
working and its interest, people will talk and write about the brexit referendum,
about the decision, about the whole referendum, by the conduct to that referendum,
about the outcome of that referendum, I am sure for many years to come, I would
simply say this, I believed and still believe the factor that we haven't had the
referendum on this issue for 14 years inspite of the factor that the european union
was changing changing and changing, was actually beginning to poison the british
politics, it was certainly poisoning the politics in my own party, and I think more
broadly than people felt, or what have been promised by the referendum they have been
delivered, and people were beginning to feel frustrated by this issue, and in the end
Britain has to decide, do we want to be inside this organization? but out of some
of its parts, or do we want to be outside this organziation, but cooperating with
it in ways that xxx mutual advantage, britain has made this choice, I believe that
choice will be carried through, and yes right, it is carried through, and yes, there
will be difficulties along the way because it's big change, but ultimately it can be
made to work, and the last words xxx is simply this, "if one of the problems, you
know world today, as we are trying, as I argued in my speech, build the globalization
that works for all of our contry, all of our people, as we do that, we have to listen
to what those people want and people do want a say on these issues" |
