so southern trains and unions are continuing to fight, while drivers on Thames-
link here are doing some of jobs which workers have walked out on, so you maybe
wondering what's this all about. let's ge on board.
on many of these thameslink services, the drivers already close the doors exactly
what unions on southern don't want to happen. now, they say one of the main
concern is the length of the train, and they're particularly worry about ones
of 12 cars.
the worry is on longer trains drivers will only have 2 seconds to watch 48 different
doors,
the length of the platform are another concern, some of them are curved and drivers
say that means they'll rely on mirrors and CCTV TO SEE if people are safety on and
off the trains,
but southern say this is about improving passengers' journeys, they say it will cut
the number of trains which are being cancelled and delayed, and also, they'll always
aim to have two people on the train.
however, in exceptional circumstances, that could go down to one.
