The comedian actor Volodymyr Zelenskiy has won a landslide victory in Ukraine’s presidential election. Full results are not yet in, but his rival, the incumbent Petro Poroshenko acknowledged defeat after exit poll showed Mr Zelenskiy had won 70% of the vote. Mr Poroshenko said he would leave office next month.

The leaders of protesters in Sudan that led to the ousting of President Omar al- Bashir say they have suspended talks and cooperation with the transitional military council that is running the country. They urge demonstrators to continue their peaceful siting-ins and intensify their protests until a transition to a civilian government is achieved.


4 men have been killed in Saudi Arabia as they attacked a security base in the town of Zulfi, north of the capital Riyadh. The Islamic State Group says it was responsible.


A landslide in Southwestern Colombia has killed at least 14 people. 5 others were injured and 8 houses in the small village of Rosas were buried by the mud. The landslide happened earlier on Sunday after days of torrential rains in the area.


And the Environmental Campaign Group Extinction Rebellion has offered to pause the peaceful protests by clime change that have blocked several key intersections in central London for several days. The spokesman called on the British government to negotiate.
