The FBI says it's investigating Friday shooting at the naval air base in Pensacola, Florida as an active terror. The gunman, a Saudi Arabian pilot killed three people before he was shot and killed. NPR's Greg Allen reports a number of Saudis who were on base at the time of the shooting are being questioned.

The gunman was a 21-year-old member of the Warrior Saudi Airforce on base for flight training. The FBI says he legally purchased the nine-millimeter Glock used in the shooting somewhere in Florida. The agency is withholding specifics. THe FBI also won't confirm reports that some Saudis on base video take the shooting. FBI special agent in charge Rachel Rojas says other Saudis training in Pensacola had been restricted to base and cooperating with authorities.

Our main goal right now is to confirm whether he acted alone or what's your part of a large network. We currently assess there was one gunman.

Members who join terrorism task forcr are part of the investigation. But Rojas says the FBI has not yet settled on a motive for the gunman. Greg Allen, NPR News, Pensacola.

The House judiciary committee this week is expected to start drafting articles of an impeachment against president Trump. NPR's Mara Liasson says House democrats have to decide what charges to include.

Do they keep it very narrow and just have wanna two counts, abuse of power, obstruction of congress, because the White Housee has flatteredly refused to cooperate with congress, answer subpoenas for witnesses and documents or as some other democrats want should the articles be broader and include obstruction of congress that the mother investigation turned down. So democrats are debating among themselves on one thing, that we do know as they want as prettey quick and done by Christmas.

Lebanon's president has postponed selecting a new prime minister for a third time after last minute objections to the favorite candidate. Leila Monala Allenx reports businessman Samir al-Khatib withdrew his name today just ahead parliamentary consultations intending to confirm his nomination which were scheduled for tomorrow.

Khatib was expected to be nominated Monday. But on Sunday the Lebanonese leading Sunni authority came out against Khatib, saying it wanted to caretake prime minister Saad al-Hariri who resigned in late October to leave the next government. Khatib promptly withdrew his name and the selection was postponed again to a week Monday. It's the second time in a month a candidate has pulled out in favor of Hariri. Protesters took the streets immediately. Fewer said the protest has been delayed again, more fewers still that the only option, parliament will seemingly accept is the return of Hariri whose resignation was the protesters' first victory. Hariri says he doesn't want the job but some analysts say it's a political route to put him back in the running. For NPR News, I'm Leila Monala Allenx in Beirut.

People in France are bracing for even more transportation roles MOnday at the start of the work week because of ongoing nationwide strikes that have been happening for four days. Unions upside with the government's redesign of the pension program are calling on even more workers to walk off the job tomorrow. Government says the retirement changes will make the system more fair and financially stable. Officials say they will gradually introduce the changes to make it easier on workers. Union workers though say they are worrying that they will have to work longer for smaller pension.

A piece of art at a popular show in Miami that's sold for more than 100,000 dollars over days no more. NPR's Amy Held reports the gallery had to remove the overwrite fruit for safety reasons.

It was a banana duct-taped to the wall slowly browning. But Art Basel show organizer said the art installation had become too appealing, managing to spoil the show. They were removed early SUnday saying the fruits and varying crowds had run uncontrollable even with guards brought them. Appleyx titled comedian, the piece had been spectacle. A day earlier, a performance artist unstuffed the banana from the wall and ate it in front the patriots with cameras rolling. The gallery had replaced the consumed banana with a new one, but saying the banana was an idea. But after determining it has expired for good, Art Basel trying to explain it's run away success. Comedian with his simple composition. It's said ultimately offered a complex reflection of oursleves. Amy Held NPR news.
