President Donald Trump, during the administration's coronavirus briefing today, reiterated the next week or more would be, in his words, "rough", though Trump has expressed some optimism about the hope of therapy of drugs to battle the coronavirus. He also said his condolences to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who's tested positive for coronavirus. Trump said the USS Comfort now in New York City harbor will start accepting Covid-19 patients after request from New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
"We hadn't had that in mind at all, but we're going to let and do it *, also going to let New Jersey. Governor Murphy, we spoke with him a little while ago, and New Jersey is going to use it also, because New Jersey is a hot, a hotspot."

A new class-action集体诉讼 lawsuit is seeking the release of high-risk inmates at federal prison in Louisiana where there has an outbreak of coronavirus. NPR's XX reports. At least 5 prisoners have died, dozens more are infected. The federal correctional facility in Oakdale, Louisiana.
The ACLU(The American Civil Liberties Union) is suing to force the release of inmates vulnerable to Covid-19. The lawsuit argues it's cruel and unusual punishment to keep them locked in an environment where 1800 people are housed in dorm-style barracks and social distancing is impossible. Last week, Attorney General, William Barr, directed the Federal Bureau of Prisons to begin releasing medically vulnerable inmates at Oakdale and other prisons experiencing Covid outbreaks. The Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on the litigation诉讼. But its spokesperson says, in all, 566 inmates have been placed in home confinement since Barr's order.

US financial markets jumped sharply today, even as the US braced for what could be its deadliest week yet in the coronavirus pandemic. NPR's XXX reports.
The DOW soared more than 1600 points. All the major stock indexes gained more than 7%. The DOW is up almost 7.75%. Investors were cheered by signs that Covid-19 deaths have begun to decline in hard-hit European countries such as Italy and Spain. Here in the US, deaths from the virus top 10000 and climbing.

A Federal Judge in Oklahoma has issued an order allowing some abortions to go forward in that state. As NPR's XXX reports. It comes after Oklahoma Governor, Kevin Stitt issued an executive order banning the procedure during the coronavirus pandemic.
Republican officials from several states have tried to include most abortions among procedures being suspended in an effort to preserve medical supplies for healthcare workers treating coronavirus patients. In some states including Oklahoma, clinics have had to shut down, and patients seeking abortions have been turned away. In a written opinion, Federal Judge Charles Goodwin says the order can not be enforced against anyone who can loose her right to obtain an abortion as a result of the order, or to prohibit medication abortions. Oklahoma prohibits abortions after about 22 weeks of pregnancy.

Acting Secretary of Navy, Thomas Modly, is accusing the former commander of a Covid-19 stricken carrier of betraying his service and had being "too naive or stupid to be commanding the vessel". Modly's remarks coming after Captain Brett Crozier was relieved of his command of the USS Theodore Roosevelt over a letter he wrote to his superiors plead for help in dealing with the corona outbreak aboard the ship. Modly says Crozier used poor judgment, distributing "the know", which won a big printed by California newspaper. Some 173 members of the crew have tested positive for the virus thus far. At least some crew members expressed anger over Modly's speech, and the crew saying it irritated them and others.
