A new survey shows that households with children are finding it's hard to afford housing and food because of the pandemic. NPR's XX reports. On findings from a new US census bureau nationwide survey that is trying to measure how the cv is affecting people's lives.
More than 73,000 households responded to the census bureau's households post survey in the June. Based on their responses, the bureau found that 1/6 adults in households with mortgage and children and 1/4 adults who are ___ in living with children could not pay for their housing on time or at all because of the public health crisis. About half of the adults survey who live with kids say they sometimes are often did not have enough to eat. The latest survey results suggest that nationwide close to 4 million children are facing food shortages because of the pandemic. And almost 12 million kids living home having trouble paying the rent or making mortgage payments.

And as the number of cv cases soars in many states including Florida, Miami Bay County officials are enacting an overnight curfew and closing beaches and some business. The Mayor also order casinos, movie theatres and strip clubs to close. Reuters reported about 95 additional cases today.

And health officials say other virus are also still around. Flu season in the southern hemisphere typically starts in May and peaks in August. NPR's XX has more.
Some of those Covid case resembling isn't happening in places that are overwhelm with cv cases. But in Australia thousands of people have been tested for flu and no cases have been found since May. XX is director of the WHO collaborating center on influenza in Melbourne.
I think that probably the greatest contribution is from social distancing.
