The drug is called esketamine艾氯胺酮, and marketed under the brand name Spravato. It was approved early last year for adults with major depressive disorder who haven't responded to other medications. Now the FDA has also approved the drug for adults who are having suicidal thoughts or have attempted suicide. Spravato, based on the anesthetic academy is considered well suited for suicidal patients because it typically works within hours. Other antidepressants can take weeks. Psychiatrists say that the fast-effecting drug like esketamine could provide an alternative to holding suicidal patients in psychiatric units until other treatment begin to work.


8.    Google is unveiling its first 5G-enabled phones. The company says the Pixel 4A and Pixel 5 will go on sell this fall starting at the comparatively modest price point, just under 500 dollars. Google's parent company Alphabet also says it will offer even cheaper none-5G versions of the phones. It was part of an effort by the company to appeal to budget-conscious consumers during the ___ downturn.
