At least nine people had been killed in central Afghanistan in a roadside bombing. Officials said the vicitims' van was caught up in an explosion near Ghazni city. Local officials blamed the Tanliba for the attack.
A Pakistani television channel Geo News says that one of its reporters has gone missing in Karachi. Ali Imran did not return home on Friday. Amnesty International said it feared he had been subjeced to an enforced disappearance.
In Nigeria, a curfew introduced after nationwide protests angainst police brutality is due to be lifted in Lagos state. The 24-hour curfew has beem relaxed from eight in the morning to six in the evening local time.
A NASA space probe which is successfully collected rock fragments from an asteroid earlier this week is at risk of losing the consignment. The mission team says rock fragments have spewed off collectively and in partices drifting off into space. The mission aims to bring material from the asteroid back to Earth in 2023.
