The 2 contenders for the US presidency are making their final appeals to voters. The Democratic challenger Joe Biden told a rally in Ohio Americans had had enough of the tweets, the anger, and failure of President Trump. Donald Trump meanwhile dismissed his low rating as fake and promised that he was going to win anyway.

Austrian police say shots have been fired in central Vienna injuring several people. A large security operation is underway and they warned residents to avoid public spaces and not to take public transport. Unconfirmed media report indicate the shooting took place in the street where there is the Jewish Synagogue.

France says about 50 Jihadists have been killed by French troops in Mali. The French Defense Minister who’s in Mali said the militants have been killed on Friday near the border with Burkina Faso.

The opposition in Ivory Coast says it’s creating a transitional government after it boycotted a presidential election on Saturday, over president Alassane Ouattara’s decision to stand for a 3rd term in office. Mr. Ouattara has taken a commanding early lead in the poll.

The UN human rights chief has warned that indiscriminate attack on civilian areas in Nagorno-Karabakh could amount to war crimes. Michelle Bachelet says homes in the mainly Armenian territory have been destroyed, streets reduced to rubble and people forced to flee or seek safety in basements.

IS militants say they carried out the attack on Kabul University that killed 19 people. The frightful assault ended after Afghan security forces killed the 3 gunmen.

And as coronavirus cases rise rapidly in Europe and North America, the WHO has urged people to support the government measures to bring the outbreak under control. Dr. Mike Ryan said European governments in particular are facing a very difficult situation.
