1.  PDT is on his way to Georgia for a campaign rally with two Republican Senators who are competing in runoff elections in January. As NPR's XX reports, Trump is still disputing his loss in the state to President-elect Joe Biden.
Republican Senator KKKLLL and DDDPPP are both on the ballot in January and how their races turn out will determine which party controls the US Senate as Joe Biden enters the White House. And while they moved on to the next race, PT is still fighting November's results. His campaign filed a new suit in Georgia Friday. And Trump has been berating怒斥 the state's Republican Governor on twitter. The Republican candidates are somewhat hand strong as they made their case. They should be arguing that provided check on the President Biden. But they have to go along with Trump's fiction that he still has a chance to win. But as NPR's XX reports, the timeline for distributing the vaccine is still in flux不确定性.
States submitted their first vaccine pre-orders on Friday, but no vaccines have been authorized for use in the US so far. There are millions of doses that are sitting in warehouses getting packed for shipment. But these first doses will mostly be reserved for healthcare workers and people in long term care facilities who are among the people at highest risk of getting exposed to Covid or dying from it. As vaccine availability increases, they can reach other res__ groups, such as essential workers or older people. Health officials say they plan to make a free Covid vaccine available to everyone who wants one, but it will take months after a vaccine is authorized to make it happen.

3.  Meanwhile hospitals are running out of bed and staff in many parts of the country. In Texas more than 130 hospitals are reporting critical staff shortages. Texas Public Radio's XXX has more.

"They don't have an ICU. They are not used to handling vitalited patients. And they just, they don't have the staff that are required to take care the Covid patients."
Larger hospitals have begun rejecting transfers in higher rates. Some patients have been sent to big cities or even other states to New Mexico. But uptight roads those options won't be available as cases continue to rise. More than 9000 Texans were hospitalized with Covid-19.

4.  The first big wintery storm of the season is hitting the Northeast. Road conditions in some areas are deteriorating and power outages are growing. Thousands are without power in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Meteorologists say today Northeast could drop a foot of snow on parts of New England.

5.  The British Royal Air Force has captured images of what is believed to be the largest iceberg in the ocean. NPR's XXX reports, the massive floe浮冰 is heading for one of the country's island territories.
Photos of what is dubbed A-68A浮冰编号 show features in the iceberg. It's currently heading in the direction of South Georgia. Researchers say the iceberg breaking up from an ice shore in Antarctica in 2017. A-68A has travelled thousands of kilometers. It's some 90 miles long, 30 miles wide, roughly the size of Delaware. And too big, XXX says, "To photograph the entire thing."
It's also warring researchers who says that if the iceberg runs grounds shallow waters near the island, it could hurt wildlife in the area. The British Antarctic survey knows that seals, penguins, and whales, all filled up the coast of South Georgia.

6.  In California winds are easing a bit, allowing crews to make progress on wildfires, but the danger remains high. The fires have burned several home and left two firefighters injured. The region's notorious Santa Ana Winds圣塔安纳风(由沙漠吹来的干热风) decreased slightly, but red flag warnings are still on because of low humidity.
