House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she will try again Monday to approve a measure that would provide 2000 dollars in direct coronavirus relief payments. President Trump he seemed flip the script by initially reporting forth the idea. NPR's *** reports, House Democrats are the ones in favor of Trump's terms. House Democrats tried to get the plan approved with the quick voice votes on Thursday but Republicans blocked it. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Michigan Democrat Debbie Dingell said the GOP should have agreed to it. Dingell also took aim at President Trump: "It is not a Silent Night. All is not calm. For too many, nothing is bright. And for too many, they are not sleeping peacefully." Now, speaker Pelosi says she will ask for a roll call though on Monday to put lawmakers on the record. The Senate is not expected to take up the measure. ***, NPR news, Washington.

Britain and the European Union managed to smooth over some of the final contentious details, reaching a post-Brexit trade agreement before time ran out. *** chaotic conclusion of the year and possibly *** cross-border trade. California reached an uncomfortable milestone in the coronavirus pandemic - the nation's most populated state are passing 2 million coronavirus cases. Heading into the holidays, *** expected travel despite warnings from health officials likely to boost that number even further. That's from the day for Covid-19. The US reportedly topped 3000 over the past 2 weeks.

*** week another new low in terms of mortgage interests rate, mortgage giant Freddie Mac's announcing today the average rate on a 30-year-fixed-rate-mortgage has dropped 2.66% this week. It's the 16th recorded drop up so far this year. *** rate at 3.74% just a year ago. The average rate on a 15-year-mortgage now stands 2.19%.

Crude oil futures prices ended the day modestly higher. Oil's up 18 cents a barrel to settle at $48.30 a barrel in New York.
