The world's biggest manufacturer of vaccines, the * Institute of India, says the government has barred it from exporting the Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus jab. The vaccine is seen as the best hope for developing countries as it's relatively cheap and can be stored at a warm temperature than other inoculations. Its chief executive said India wanted to protect its own vulnerable people first.

The United Nations mission in the Central African Republic says rebel forces have seized the southeastern city of *. An UN official said the rebels were everywhere in the city.

Officials in Niger say about 100 people are now known to have died in Saturday's attacks on two villages by suspected Islamist militants. The villages are near the volatile border with Mali, where Jihadist groups operate.

Bosnia Security Minister has said the situation at a migrant camp in the northwest of the country is cruel and inhumane.  * said he'd ordered the army to make the * camp habitable. Much of it was destroyed in a fire.

Islamic State militants have said they were behind an attack in which at least 10 coal miners were killed in the western Pakistani province of *. The victims were members of a minority Shia community.

The Organization of American States has condemned the death in custody of a member of an indigenous * community in Venezuela. * was arrested in November on suspicion of taking part in an attack on a military installation.

And *, the leader of a British band * has died. He was 78. The band's best-known song is their version of “You'll never walk alone”. It was adopted by fans of *'s local football team, Liverpool, becoming one of the most famous anthems in world sport.
