Hundreds of people in Sudan are reported to have been injured in clashes with security forces during large protests against Monday’s military coup. The Sudanese Interior Ministry has denied that troops fired live rounds to disperse crowds. Demonstrators have been demanding the reinstatement of the ousted Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok.

The United States and the European Union have reached a deal to settle a long-running dispute about tariff on steel and aluminium imports. US officials said tax introduced during the Trump Administration would not be removed completely. Instead, some EU steel and aluminium will be permitted to enter the American market without tariffs.

World leaders at the G20 Summit have endorsed a global minimum tax on corporations of 15%. The measure is an attempt to make multinational companies pay more tax rather than rerouting their profits through places where rates are low.

Amnesty International has closed its office in Hong Kong. The rights group announced the move earlier this week, saying the security law imposed by Beijing had made working freely impossible. Hong Kong officials accused Amnesty of making false claims.

The military in Mali which is fighting an Islamist insurgency says 7 soldiers have been killed in 2 separate attacks.

The Greek coastguard says a Turkey ship carrying about 400 migrants has anchored safely off the Greek island of Kos. The vessel sent out a distress signal after its engine reportedly failed.

The US actor Alec Baldwin has said he would back efforts to limit the use of guns in film sets. He was speaking on camera for the first time since he accidentally shot dead his colleague with a prop gun.
