The US telecoms giant AT&T and Verizon have agreed at the last minute to delay the rollout of new 5G mobile networks near some airports. The move follows a warning that 5G technology use radio frequencies shared by instruments on some older American planes, making them unsafe to fly.

The White House says Russia could at any point launch an attack on Ukraine, where it has amassed some 100,000 troops on the border. It said it was an extremely dangerous situation. Russia denies its troop buildup is a prelude to invasion.

The former Colombian Senator Ingrid Betancourt has announced she will run for president again, 20 years after being kidnapped by left-wing rebels. Mrs Betancourt was abducted by the FARC while campaigning for the 2002 election, and spent 6 years as a hostage.

A Hong Kong independence activist to coin the catchphrase that became popular at pro-democracy demonstrations has been released from jail after nearly 4 years. Edward Leung’s now banned slogan “Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of our times” was used by pro-democracy activists during the 2019 demonstrations against Chinese rule.

Customs officials in Senegal say they’ve seized 3 containers of ammunition worth 5 million dollars from Xxx cargo ship.

And in the major shock of the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament, Ghana have been knocked out after losing to the Xxx. The island has beat the 4-time champions 3:2.
