The United States is sending another 800 million dollars worth of military aid to Ukraine to help it fight against Russia's invasion. The package includes dozens of howitzers artillery pieces and more than 100 drones known as "Phoenix Ghost", developed specifically for the Ukraine conflict.
President Zelenskyy has indicated he is pursuing possible avenues for counties in the Russian siege of Mariupol, where only a small pocket of Ukrainian resistance remains. He said Kiev has offered to release Russian prisoners in exchange for trapped Ukrainians.
The former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández has been extradited to the United States to stand trial on three charges associated with drug trafficking. Mr. Hernández who led Honduras for most a decade was arrested at the request of the Biden administration. He says the charges are part of a conspiracy.
British MPs have agreed to investigate whether the Prime Minister Boris Johnson misled parliament over parties in his official residence that brought lockdown rules. He has denied this and rejected calls by the opposition to step down.
The far-right challenger for the French presidency Marine Le Pen has been holding her final big rally in the northern city of Arras. Mr. Marcon has been campaigning in the suburb of Paris. The latest poll suggests he is favorite to win in Sunday's run-off vote.
The Arab league has called on Israel to end Jewish prayers in Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque compound. After a meeting in Jordan, the league said Israel has restricted Muslims in their right to worship, while allowing ultra-nationalist Jews to enter the site.
And the World Health Organization says more than a million African children have received protection from an anti-Malaria vaccine, first deployed in October last year. It says children in Ghana, Kenya and Malawi have received at least one dose.
