1. Two oil bankers near the strait of Hormuz were damaged in suspected attacks on Thursday, leaving one in blaze and adrift, as sailors were evacuated from both vessels. No immediate explanation on what caused the damage that occurred off the coast of Iran. It marks the latest mysterious incident to target the region's oil tankers.





2. Boris Johnson took a commanding lead in the contest to become Britain's next prime minister, winning the largest share of support in the first round of voting by conservative party law markers. Johnson received 114 of 313 votes cast by conservative in the house of commerce, reducing the field of 10 to 7. Several more ballots will be held until two candidates remain. The final vote is expected in July.





3. Amanda Knox came back in Italy on Thursday for the first time since she was acquitted murder. She was in the country to participate in a panel discussion on wrongful conviction. Knox was sentenced to 26 years in prison, but was acquitted of murdering her roommate in 2015 by Italy's highest court.





4. And finally, researchers say more labs are retiring primates to sanctuaries after they have finished the research. Advances in technology have meant fewer monkeys had to be put down in order to put their tissue. Researchers  say they are making more efforts to give the ones who can survive a retirement, rather than euthanizing them.
